Dead Friends 02:16
quite sick of searching for metaphor for the rate we’re losing souls it cuts me at the core please please please please put down your pen it always starts it never ends you only care about my dead friends we’re living in the age of modern ghouls you’re a welcome tourist but never some of us never left modern lynching opioids and trans death a billion ways you can make a difference but you only care about our dead friends if you can’t keep us alive don’t taint your lips with the names of my dead friends (will you never learn from heartbreak? will you ever learn from my dead friends?)

about

Two new songs from Ghastly, Indiana.

After Emily (bass) and Eric (drums) moved away, Ghastly, Indiana took a hiatus from writing and performing. The break was extended due to quarantine but Martin and Byrne have now reformed as an at-distance writing/recording duo.

Without the constraint of thinking about live shows right now, the new stuff is taking an odd direction: sometimes poppier, sometimes weirder, sometimes both.

For now, Ghastly will be releasing new songs as single/b-side combos as we finish them and/or when we feel it.

"Dead Friends" is a new song, assembled from instrumental demos we'd been passing back and forth for years. It's spunky but poppy and a lyrical cousin to "Death Song 2016."

"Queens" is an older song that we played out at our last few live shows. The lyrics and main guitar riffs are the same but this arrangement is a lot... "bouncier" than the old one.
